UYMG Alpha Leadership Training Personal Notes

September 27th, 2007

These are the notes I’ve taken from Stephen Pierce presentation during the Alpha Leadership training. Please feel free to ask about my notes on the comments below if there is anything that you may not understand from these notes. As what it’s said, these are my own notes that you may not understandwhat I’m trying to say, but I do hope you do. Hehe.

5 Leadership principals according to Stephen:

1. Caring.

Question that we may ask the participant during the UYMG event:
What is the most important thing in this event ? what has to happen to be in this event ?

2. Intelligent.

Leaders are readers.
If a doctor are about to tell you about your heatlh, will you ever dare to say you’ve got information overload ? No!
When a participant ask you something that you don’t know. Don’t be shy and say you don’t know. You may simply say: "I don’t know but I WILL find out for you"
People will forgive if you are doing mistakes, but people will now forgive if you are having a BAD character.

3. Courages

Try to find out something
Change to adapt with environment, ie. weather is changing and we adapt.
Leaders leave from the front, not behind, ie. Alexander always stand in front of the line during any fight in the war.
Built courages from intelligent
Leader might don’t know what will happen later
Don’t let your team know that you’re shaking (if any)– face our fear.
You can’t predict what will happen
Don’t always look for reasons, ie. The stars haven’t line up that we can’t do anything.

4. Discipline.

Life is a lot of distractions, yet we need to be discipline.
You don’t need to pray God — concentrate on discipline — and consistently
If you are not discipline, how can you expect your team to be discipline.

5. Trustworthy.

They have to trust you
We have to trust ourself
It’s not about perfection
A leader is making more mistakes than anybody else.
They will continuing to learn.

Some other things that I take notes:

Leadership is all about CHARACTER.
See everything as opportunity, not problem — either you like it or not.
If you look at one corner, that’s all you got
Get your team input, but you make the decision.

Always ask this question: "Where can you win?" — 2 people can’t occupied the same position.

Plan VS strategies
We cannot plan how people respond to our products. Strategies can make people millionaire, not plan.
Plan don’t give you options, strategies has a lot of options.

Train US marine — know the tools, but they teach strategies.

Play chess — can you plan & you win ?? No!!!
You need to know what’s available, then start thinking strategy.

See business like a chess
Have one whole picture or else when something goes wrong, you don’t know what to do

Relative Strength — How strong you are compare to what?
– Customer / competitor
– of yourself, of your team and your competitor

Others weaknesses might be your strength
One position always open something up / new ideas.
How that weakness can be my strength.

2 simple words that you can put as posters and paste in your fridge — "WHAT ELSE?"
eg. what else can I do ? What else ….. ??

4-E that a leader has to have:

1. Energy
They have to have energy themself to keep moving

2. Energize
Leader have to know how to energize people, inspire people

3. Edge
Always want to have the edge
Always constantly intelligent themselves
Always constantly stronger themselves
Stephen always buy a lot a lot of books from Amazon. Speed reading…

4. Execution
Leader execute all they learnt, lead by example, though it’s not working.
Sit in the car racing — not only theory, it’s different when you sit in the car and start to race.

2 books that Stephen recommend to read:

1. The first 2 chapter of "Do you?" by Russell Simmons Phat Form
2. "Hip Hop" by Roc T

Leadership: See how Bill Gates, Stone Jobs, Clinton talk when they are on the stage.

Those who unlearnt, undecided, unfocus — will not success.
Learn, decisive, focus and have FUN — success

Talk to you again.

UYMG Alpha Leadership Training

September 27th, 2007

I drop my feet on LCCT, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia airport, 3-days ago on 25th September nearly midnight, 23.00pm. Staying wih my sister somewhere in USJ 13.

Then I know about tunehotel.com from a good friend of mine that I straight book the hotel on that night where I slept at 3am++ on that night.

And guess what? I’m now writing this blog in that hotel. Please visit: http://www.tunehotel.com for more info. interesting!! The hotel rates start from RM.9.99. I’ve booked the room for 5 days and it cost me not more than RM300.

We have now completed the 2-days training with Laura and SMCC family. I’ve met a lot of great awesome people on the training.

As photos will explain 1,000 words. I think I’ll go through the training with you using photos… as I forgot to bring down my camera down to the computer room here in the tunehotel, I will update you as soon as possible.

Cheers,
Tanady

I’m so Excited about Audio stuff

September 24th, 2007

It’s so much fun! I finished the entire project through the night.

  • Record the 10-minutes audio lesson (Keith Cunningham).
  • Upload to the Internet.
  • Create a simple opt-in page in my homepage.

I slept at 04.00am, and awake at 06.30 continue to do the project. Hoho. Now you can feel how excited I am.

So, please kindly leave some feedback and/or comments about the Keith’s audio lessons.
I might be doing more if there are good response about it.

Stay tune.

Preparation for UYMG leadership

September 23rd, 2007

Huff… it’’s late at night already. Or early in the morning I should say. It shows 2.46am on my laptop. And I’m still practising or preparing on the ’speech’ that I need to present on stage for UYMG leader later next few days.

Yet, I record it as well and plan to give away as a gift for those who opt-in into my list on www.tanady.com

First time I record my own sound using "Sound Recorder" (Microsoft), and I found it very interesting. Haha. Glad to listen to my own sound. Tune it around and give some echo as well.

Then I use "Web Audio Plus" to record my presentation. It generates smaller files using .flv extension.
